"Temporal and Spatial Distillation" - The Ink Painting World of Chen Tsung-chen (陳宗鎮)
Curator: Fu Yu (傅鈺)
Chen Tsung-chen's ink painting creations have always navigated between natural landscapes and inner spirit. Early on, based on landscape sketching, he understood the resonance between brushwork and nature through observing the scenery of heaven and earth. Later, he gradually shifted from external scenes to inner states of mind, using colored ink, layered textures, and spatial composition to develop an artistic vocabulary that combines poetry and spirituality. Under his brush, scenes are not static landscapes but traces sedimented after the flow of time. The density of ink, the blending of color layers, and the breathing space between blank areas transform natural forms into reflections of the inner world. His creative journey, moving from natural sketching to mental image construction, consistently focuses on the subtle yet profound relationship between humans and the universe. The mountains, rivers, landscapes, and light and shadow in his paintings are not merely observed; they are a spiritual gaze after sedimentation.
"Temporal and Spatial Distillation" is not just a depiction of scenery; it is more like condensing life perception between brush and ink, turning time into layers and space into artistic conception, unfolding Chen Tsung-chen's ink painting world amidst the flow between reality and illusion.
