Saisiyat Folklore Museum 'Echo of Indigenous Voices' Holiday Arts Performance: Lalowa' Band Concert
To enrich the cultural content of two indigenous museums, draw public attention to the diversity of indigenous cultures, and boost the development of tourism and leisure industries, the Miaoli County Government has meticulously planned the 'Echo of Indigenous Voices' holiday arts performance series. Among these, the Nanzhuang Saisiyat Folklore Museum will host 28 arts performances from February 17th until the end of the year, while the Tai'an Atayal Folklore Museum will feature 80 performances by indigenous groups and bands. The public is welcome to enjoy authentic traditional dance and music performances and experience the beauty of indigenous culture.
This year's arts performance series takes 'Echo of Indigenous Voices' as its theme. 'Indigenous Voices' represents the distinctive dance, music, and songs of indigenous peoples that carry historical and cultural significance, while 'Echo' expresses the hope of promoting indigenous culture through arts performances to generate resonance. The character for 'echo' (迴) also carries meanings of rotation and cycle, symbolizing the continuation and inheritance of indigenous music, dance, songs, and art.
The Saisiyat Folklore Museum's holiday arts series, from February 17th (Lunar New Year's Day) to February 19th (the third day of the Lunar New Year) in 2026, will feature one street performer or performance group each morning and afternoon daily. On February 20th and 21st, there will be one street performer performance each day, totaling 8 performances. Furthermore, from February 28th to December 12th, on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, the museum will continue to host 10 performances each by street performers and performance groups, amounting to a total of 28 arts performances.
