Island Resonance (島鳴)

Voice of Taiwan is a large-scale recorder symphony concert presented by the Hsin-Chu Recorder Orchestra, exploring the theme "How Can an Island Be Heard?" Through the rich and nuanced tones of the recorder, the concert paints the mountains, oceans, settlements, and cities of Taiwan. Featuring original works by Taiwanese composers such as Hsien-I Liao, Tsen-Ling Lin, Chiu-Yu Chou, and Tsung-Jen Hsieh, alongside international pieces inspired by Taiwan from Stephen Watkins and Dietrich Schnabel, the program highlights Taiwan's cultural identity as a vital source of global musical creativity. More than a concert, this is a sonic narrative of Taiwan, inviting audiences to experience the island's memory woven from land, humanity, and soundscape.
