Huangmei Opera Comedy "Three Smiles and the Pointing of Autumn Fragrance" (三笑點秋香) 20th Anniversary Gala

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Lan Chih Hsin Huangmei Opera Troupe presents the huangmei opera comedy "Three Smiles at Ch'iu Hsiang," adapted from the Ming dynasty tale and the classic film "Three Smiles." Led by founder Dr. Wang Yu-lan, who stars as T'ang Po-hu, the production features over a dozen newly composed huangmei melodies, poetry and paintings by the Four Talents of Chiangnan, and a lively new "Four Seasons Song" for the maidservants. This joyful performance blends traditional huangmei opera with modern elements, offering a fresh and humorous take on a beloved romantic story.
