2026 Feng-tung Taiwanese Opera Troupe "Reflections Through Time" (映影返時)

Feng-tung Taiwanese Opera Troupe's new creation "Reflections Through Time" (映影返時), using the Mid-Autumn Festival night when the young girl Yu-mei (宇美) obtains an ancient mirror as a lead, takes the audience through time and space to witness the fates and resilience of ancient women such as Hsi Shih (西施), Tsai Wen-chi (蔡文姬), Tu Shih-niang (杜十娘), and Nieh Yin-niang (聶隱娘), and engages in a millennium-spanning dialogue with the autonomy and confidence of modern women. The entire play integrates traditional Taiwanese Opera singing styles, movements, and modern RAP, performed by outstanding local artistic talents from Keelung (基隆), showcasing a perfect fusion of tradition and innovation.
