Fengshan History Classroom
Fengshan is one of the early developed areas in Kaohsiung. During the Qing Dynasty rule, it was called Fengshan New City in contrast to the old city in Tsoying (左營). To promote and market the cultural and humanistic charm of the Fengshan area in Greater Kaohsiung and thereby drive opportunities for the local tourism industry, the "Fengshan History Classroom" has been specially established on the first floor of the Administration Building of the Dadong Cultural and Arts Center. It displays Fengshan New City's historical culture, temples, historic sites and ruins, Fengyi Academy (鳳儀書院), food, and characteristic districts. Exhibition content includes imagery of the Twin Cities Ancient Trail, maps of Fengshan New City's cultural attractions, the culture of the Tsao-kung Canal (曹公圳), blacksmithing tools, publications, and food models, introducing Fengshan's history and all sorts of information on what's good to eat and fun to do.
