[Exhibition] Boundaries are Texture: 2026 Kaohsiung Youth Literature Award Graphic Literature Special Exhibition
The "Kaohsiung Youth Literature Award" has long been dedicated to cultivating and promoting youth literary creation in Kaohsiung. Among its categories, the "Graphic Literature Category," established in 2019, continuously focuses on how literature expands from text to images and reveals new creative dimensions to literary youth.
Compared to other literary awards that mostly use existing genres such as poetry, prose, and fiction as their main framework, graphic literature is a brand new and unique award design, and also an experimental creative field developed by the Kaohsiung Youth Literature Award in the process of promoting literary innovation. It does not predefine how images and text should be combined, but instead invites young creators to explore more unnamed forms of expression between text, images, narrative, and viewing through submissions, creation, evaluation, and discussion.
This exhibition takes "Boundaries are Texture" as its core concept, inviting Kaohsiung-born manga artist Tseng Yao-ch'ing (曾耀慶) to serve as curator. It displays award-winning works from 2019 to 2025, reviewing the seven-year exploration journey accumulated by creators, judges, and the award system. The audience is invited to step into the intersection of images and text, and observe how the Graphic Literature Award continues to develop new literary forms through past works and rule evolution.
When images and text approach, collide, and generate with each other, boundaries are no longer just lines, but become the place where creation reveals its own texture.
