Zen and Entanglement - Wang Hui-chuan (王卉娟) Solo Exhibition

Date: 2026-04-11 — 2026-06-30 Organizer: 王卉娟
After many years abroad, Dr. painter Wang Hui-chuan (王卉娟), who resides in Australia, returns to Southern Taiwan once again, bringing the Bodhisattva in her heart.
The inspiration for this 'Zen and Entanglement' exhibition stems from pauses during reading, inspirations from daily life, and observations and reflections on modern society and interpersonal relationships. The diverse themes not only release the painter's thoughts but also present the quiet moments she shares with the Bodhisattva she paints.
For example, 'Bodhisattva and Spider-Man' and 'Window of Thought' reflect the painter's keen awareness of inner fluctuations and emotional changes;
'The Happiness of 5 Dollars and 500 Dollars' and 'From Entanglement to Zentangle' convey the meaning of settling the mind amidst various appearances;
'What is an Apple' and 'My Barcode' reveal that all things are accumulated bit by bit;
'Dance of the Universe' and 'Turning into Spring Mud to Nourish Flowers' comprehend the holistic nature and the essence of endless cycles.
'Rolling Up a Thousand Piles of Snow' and 'Dance of Shadow Puppetry,' created during the pandemic, depict figures struggling in solitude and feelings of helplessness; 'Millennium Lamp' reflects the life changes technology has brought to humanity while reminding us that the hope for life's beauty remains eternally bright.
Wang Hui-chuan (王卉娟) jokes that her paintings are 'both talkative and quiet.' The talkative part is the keen observation of problems, while the quiet part is the pure essence of the Bodhisattva. When we inevitably experience turbulence in life, the Bodhisattva sits quietly beside us, listening to our hearts and accompanying us — reminding us that we are never alone at any time.
