Wu Te-ho Sculpture Exhibition
In early summer, the warm guardianship within the stone-carved universe, conveying auspicious imagery of emotion, stone sculpture artist Wu Te-ho (吳德和) will hold a solo sculpture exhibition at "Meng Jiao Art Gallery" (孟焦畫坊) in Shihlin, Taipei. This exhibition is not only a highlight of Master Wu Te-ho's over 40-year creative career but also his nostalgia and vision rooted in art and returning to his hometown.
Warmth blooming from tradition: "Life aesthetics" in stone carving. Wu Te-ho's creative career spans tradition and modernity. His most acclaimed "Blessing Lion Series" boldly breaks the stereotypical solemnity of traditional temple stone lions. Under Wu Te-ho's masterful chisel, hard granite and greenish stone are transformed into rounded,亲切 guardians, radiating and conveying the warmth and harmony of the family.
In addition to the iconic blessing lion works, the exhibition also features figure sculptures and the chicken (in Taiwanese, "ke," meaning home) series, presenting warm and lovely scenes through the works. The interplay of hardness, softness, emptiness, and solidity in red granite and white jade stone materials reveals ever-changing artistic conceptions, with flowing lines like water, embodying the highest realm of "life is art, art is life."
Cordial invitation: Afternoon tea art gathering at Meng Jiao Art Gallery
The organizer will hold an official opening tea party on June 6, 2026 (Saturday) at 15:00. Chairman Wu Te-ho will be present to share how he gives soul and warmth to stubborn stone with every chisel and hammer. We sincerely invite art-loving friends to come and view these vibrant sculptures on an early summer afternoon.
