Umbrella Longevity Energy: Chung Yu-hui (鐘有輝) Creative Exhibition
Chung Yu-hui's (鐘有輝) artistic career spans creative practice, academic research, and educational promotion, holding a pivotal and crucial position in the history of modern printmaking development in Taiwan. This "Umbrella Longevity Energy: Chung Yu-hui (鐘有輝) Creative Exhibition" is not only a retrospective of his eighty-year life journey but also a visual feast about energy, nature, and cosmic order.
When Chung Yu-hui (鐘有輝) studied in the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University, he established a solid artistic foundation under the influence of several senior artists. Inspired by his teacher Liao Hsiu-ping (廖修平), he established his lifelong creative aspiration of exploring through printmaking.
In Chung Yu-hui's (鐘有輝) creative world, "energy" is its core theme. He does not view printmaking as mere technique, but as a ritual concerning physical labor and the accumulation of time. Through repeated plate-making, printing, and transfer, he refines abstract life experiences into concrete visual expression. His creations take printmaking as the center, radiating outward to oil painting and multi-media, demonstrating immense life dynamism. The common imagery of grass and leaves in his works stems from his meticulous observation of daily life, embodying the perspective of "one leaf, one world," elevating tiny grass and leaves into energy carriers bearing resilience and continuity.
This exhibition features approximately two hundred selected works, fully presenting the evolution of Chung Yu-hui's (鐘有輝) style. In the fast-paced rhythm of contemporary life, the gentle power and introspective spirit contained within his works provide viewers with an opportunity to reconsider the relationship between nature, life, and self. We sincerely invite you to experience together the abundant energy born from the fusion of art and life.
