Jack Huang Piano Trio

Jazz pianist Huang Yu-chieh (黃煜傑), originally from Changhua and currently residing in Taichung, is a name that jazz enthusiasts in central Taiwan will likely remember. His proficient playing reveals his delicate emotions and his love for musicians like Bill Evans and Fred Hersch. Often spontaneous and romantic by nature, he particularly wanted to continue the very harmonious trio sound from recent performances, thus deciding to hold another romantic yet contemporary-style piano trio at Jazzhead with drummer Wang Chih-chia (王智加) and bassist Liu Chia-en (劉佳恩). This trio, whose members all hail from central Taiwan, are also good buddies who hang out together normally. On stage, besides supporting each other, there are occasional playful and teasing moments, and they also give each other space to shine.
