Inter-Museum Exchange Exhibition: "Textures and Daily Traces Extended Within One Cloth and One Weave"
This exhibition is jointly curated by the Atayal Cultural Museum of Miaoli County and the Atayal Cultural Museum of Nan'ao Township, Yilan County, hoping to establish a cultural dialogue platform through inter-museum cooperation and promote exchanges in areas such as collection research, exhibition planning, and educational outreach. Yilan County's long-term deep cultivation in Atayal cultural preservation resonates with Miaoli County's direction of promoting Atayal culture, showcasing the results of cross-museum cooperation in advancing indigenous cultural inheritance.
The exhibition focuses on the traditional weaving culture of the Nan'ao group of the Atayal tribe, known for its bright colors and delicate patterns. Besides traditional red, black, and white color schemes, bright colors are often used to present rich layers, and through dense lines and flowing totems, it showcases the deep connection between the people and the mountain forest and river environment. Their clothing is highly decorative, with some works showing craft details like fringe and beadwork, fully reflecting the artistry and cultural characteristics of the Nan'ao group's weaving culture. The exhibited items not only present traditional weaving techniques but also further reflect the tight cultural links between the people and the natural environment, social norms, and daily life, allowing visitors to deeply understand the historical context and cultural spirit behind indigenous craft culture.
We sincerely invite people from all sectors to actively visit during the exhibition period, together experiencing the cultural textures and life traces extended within the interwoven warp and weft of Atayal weaving craftsmanship.
