Hung Ken-shen (洪根深) Art Museum Permanent Exhibition

Hung Ken-shen (1946-), a native of Tingwan Village, Huxi Township, Penghu County, is a renowned modern ink wash painter in Taiwan. A graduate of the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University, he returned to his hometown to teach for one year before moving to Kaohsiung, where he taught at Kaohsiung Municipal Senior High School and later at National Kaohsiung Normal University. He is an important representative artist known for his contemporary ink wash creations and has devoted himself to the modern art movement in southern Taiwan, with a profound influence. He is also a mentor-like figure guiding Taiwanese ink wash from "modern" to "post-modern." To honor his outstanding artistic achievements and contributions, the county has designated this historical building as his dedicated art museum and continues to promote the development of modern ink wash art.
