Hsu Mu Rural Artifacts Memorial Museum Exhibition
The Hsu Mu Rural Artifacts Museum was established primarily to commemorate the late parents of the foundation's chairman, Hsu Chia-chung. The museum's name, Hsu Mu, is the name of the chairman's father. Mr. Hsu Mu, the father of Chairman Hsu, built his fortune from scratch. In his early years, he was employed as a laborer. Due to the demands of his work, he frequently had to carry goods between Nanshih Village and Lukang. Through diligence and frugality, he was eventually able to accumulate wealth, step by step purchasing farmland, laying a solid foundation for today's Depo Industrial.
The memorial museum's site was chosen next to Depo Industrial's Lukang factory. After hiring a renowned designer, the museum's architectural form was decided as a double-dragon linked courtyard house (a traditional three-section compound). Construction began in 2005 (94th year of the Republic of China) and, after nearly two years, was finally completed in mid-2007 (96th year of the Republic of China). During the construction process, the museum also actively collected traditional rural artifacts. After more than half a year of preparation, the Hsu Mu Rural Memorial Museum held its grand opening ceremony at the end of 2008 (97th year of the Republic of China).
The museum houses many traditional rural tools, allowing everyone to understand the scenes of traditional rural life.
