Here, Meeting with Everyone—National Museum of History Permanent Exhibition

Date: 2026-01-01 — 2026-12-31 Organizer: 國立歷史博物館
The National Museum of History launched a restoration and reuse project for its century-old building in 2018, successfully completing it in early 2024. This is the first large-scale comprehensive renovation of the museum and update of its permanent exhibition since its establishment in 1955, symbolizing the museum's entry into a new era and offering visitors a richer and more diverse cultural experience.

This permanent exhibition takes "diversity," "exchange," and "self-realization" as its themes, carefully selecting 280 precious artifacts from the collection and displaying the development of civilizations across different periods in chronological order. Each exhibit carries profound cultural heritage and historical significance, from the earliest survival tools to modern calligraphy and paintings, presenting achievements in technology, art, and thought across different eras and recording the evolution of society and culture. Through these historical artifacts, visitors can explore the interactions and changes between humans and nature, society, and the self, experiencing the rich layers of history.

We sincerely invite you to step into the past, travel through time and space, and experience the lives and spiritual worlds of people from various eras. This is not only a visual feast but also a profound intellectual journey. Each artifact, like a witness to history, transcends the boundaries of time and space, telling us stories of the past. Through these exhibits, we hope you will discover your own historical impressions and draw wisdom and inspiration from them, sparking deep reflection on history and culture.
