Galloping Through Lukang: Huangxi Nine Eccentrics Calligraphy Society Joint Exhibition

Life and art inspire creative ideas. The Huangxi Nine Eccentrics Calligraphy Society Joint Exhibition takes modern, life-oriented phrases as the thematic inspiration for its written content. The members agreed to use unframed mounting forms to engage in a bout of creative eccentricity together. The members hope to express the form, sound, and meaning of Chinese characters through variations in the layout of calligraphic lines—their weight, void and solid, density, as well as the dryness/wetness and shades of ink—and by using different writing materials, to showcase the diverse creative styles of calligraphy art, roaming freely in the charm of brush and ink and spatial variations. By promoting "making calligraphy art part of life, and making life artistic," everyone is invited to appreciate the beauty of Chinese character form art, as well as the Nine Eccentrics' informal innovations in calligraphy art, creating a rich, diverse, and ever-changing visual art feast, presenting a unique humanistic artistic style of calligraphy.
