Flute Rhapsody - Interstellar Blues in Light and Shadow

The Atro Flute Ensemble was founded in 2023 and is a rare and promising flute ensemble group within Taiwan's flute music circle. The ensemble recruits not only professional flutists but also gathers outstanding talents who love the flute, possess performance ability, and have a passion for learning. The ensemble is jointly promoted by Director Cho Yen-hsiu (卓彥秀) and Music Director Pan Tsung-hsien (潘宗賢), aiming to enhance members' musical expression, ensemble skills, and stage experience through stable ensemble training, annual concerts, and diverse stage practices, thereby further deepening Taiwan's flute music culture and learning atmosphere.



The performance will focus on flute ensemble, combining classical, jazz, crossover, and contemporary sounds to showcase the unique charm of a flute ensemble, different from typical chamber music or orchestral music. Conductor Professor Kuo Lien-chang (郭聯昌) is invited to conduct. Professor Kuo studied in Paris, France, and has held important positions including the Orchestre International de Paris, Taipei Chinese Orchestra, and the Youth Corps' Young Lions Wind Ensemble. He has long been active in promoting symphony, wind band, Chinese orchestra, and contemporary music, and has served in various national-level arts review and educational roles, making profound contributions to Taiwan's music education and wind band development. This concert features selected works such as Anže Rozman's "Water and Wind," Raymond Guiot's "Jazz Divertimento," Gustav Holst's "Jupiter," and George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," presenting the diverse possibilities of flute ensemble from delicate timbres to grand sounds, and from classical vocabulary to crossover styles.
