DAYDREAMING: Euro-Asian Disability Arts Touring Exhibition
[A daydream spanning 9,000 kilometers arrives in Kaohsiung! The DAYDREAMING Euro-Asian Disability Arts Touring Exhibition debuts.]
This summer, the DAYDREAMING Euro-Asian Disability Arts Touring Exhibition is on display at Kuang Lung Hsing (光隆行) in Hamasen (哈瑪星), Kaohsiung. Co-organized by 33 Daydream (33 號白日夢) and the Da Yu Ke Wei Charity Association (大有可為公益協會), the exhibition brings together artists, art studios, and social welfare organizations with disabilities from the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, and Taiwan. Through artworks, documentary footage, publications, and installation art, it embarks on a journey across 9,000 kilometers.
The exhibition begins with the bilingual inaugural issue of DAYDREAMING. From 2025 to 2026, 33 Daydream visited five European countries, conducting in-depth visits to disability art studios, cultural institutions, and creators. Interviews, footage, and field observations were compiled into a publication and further translated into exhibition content, transforming reading into a space for viewing and experiencing. Through rich cultural exchange, the exhibition also looks back and reflects on the future development of disability art in Taiwan.
The first floor of the venue displays original works by Taiwanese and European artists. The second floor features a large-scale on-site installation composed of 108 facets, combined with documentary footage from the European tour and interview content. Visitors are invited to explore viewing experiences from multiple perspectives by moving, circling, and changing their angles of observation. Some works will be rotated periodically, allowing visitors at different stages to enjoy new creations.
In addition to the exhibition space, a Pop-up Shop offers limited-edition postcards, licensed merchandise from European art organizations, and pre-orders for the inaugural issue of DAYDREAMING. The venue also presents interview content from art studios and creators in five European countries, aiming to extend art from the exhibition space into daily life and invite more people into the world of the works and their creators.
