Chiang Pei-chun Recorder Recital (Flute Sounds and Piano Rhythms · Summer Whispers)

Date: 2026-07-25 Organizer: 姜姵均
Kaohsiung is where musical dreams take flight; Cologne is the distant place where artistic vision is refined.
Chiang Pei-chun (姜姵均), currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, will bring a rich flute sound in the height of summer, transforming the purest breath and fingertip movement into a cool breeze brushing over the harbor city.
This is not just a concert, but a cross-century musical root-seeking and dialogue from the Renaissance to the modern era. The recorder is certainly familiar to everyone—perhaps seen as a warm and simple beginner instrument. In this recital, it will transform into a very different image, a soul full of dramatic tension and delicate emotion.
The fantastic tension of Italy, with free improvisational language and varied rhythmic shifts, showcases the wild beauty of the early Baroque; French courtly elegance runs through the music with delicate, silken ornaments; the brilliant Baroque concerto shines resplendently, recreating the gorgeous splendor of the golden age of early music; then the music will leap to the mysterious new sounds of the modern era, combining the exploration of Eastern modern consciousness and incorporating Islamic musical style and the strong rhythm of the conga drum. The notes are rhythmically powerful, allowing the recorder to break free from traditional frameworks. Let us embark on an intimate, mysterious summer whisper.
