[Character Notes — Taipei Arts Festival Series] Time and Body as Curse and Redemption: Wang Mo-lin (王墨林) and Beckett

Date: 2026-08-12
This lecture, part of the Taipei Arts Festival series, takes Samuel Beckett's 'Krapp's Last Tape' as a starting point to explore time, body, and memory as both curse and redemption in theater. Veteran Taiwanese avant-garde practitioner Wang Mo-lin and scholar Wang Chun-yen discuss Wang's creative journey against the backdrop of the Cold War and Taiwan's martial law era, moderated by critic Wu Szu-feng. Attendees will gain deep insights into the history of Taiwan's small theater movement and the philosophy of the body.
