65 Craft Festival: Craft Play Theater X Wild Kids Physical Theater (4 Sessions)
The '65 Craft Festival' presents a five-day 'Handmade Theater,' transforming crafts from static objects into a sensory feast that can be seen, heard, and personally experienced. This year, it specially invites the 'Naturally Theater Troupe' to give new life to recycled materials with an eco-friendly spirit, 'Crazy Dream Art' to translate the warmth of artisan labor through circus rhythms, and the 'Wild Kids Theater' to use drama to excavate the emotional folds deep within humanity. These three teams jointly explore the zeitgeist of the everyday and the marginal, bridging the gap between the public and contemporary art. Through the cross-disciplinary translation of theater and dance, they reconnect the people, events, and objects within the space, sparking profound reflection on the past and future, intimacy or alienation. Accompanied by the notes of live musicians piercing through the city's sounds, they weave together every strand of emotion from the island's works, allowing this passion for craft to function like a sustainable gear, continuously turning in the resonance of art.
Wild Kids Theater: 'Crooked Peach'
He pinches, and I go crooked; the more he tries to tame me, the more I act up. This is a love-hate pas de deux between me, Crooked Peach, and the artist, a farce full of sparks. Of course, it's also the most beautiful tacit understanding between us.
Performing Group Introduction
Wild Kids Physical Theater was founded in 2011 by mime performer Yao Shang-te (姚尚德). From 2012 to 2018, under the name 'Wild Kids Physical Theater,' it carried out the 'Mime Walkabout - Taiwan's Little Corners' and 'Taking Root' residency creation projects across Taiwan, visiting various small corners of the island, attempting to reconnect the body with society and nature, while also linking with local culture through performance and encouraging collective creation among local residents. In recent years, 'Wild Kids' has also participated in numerous domestic and international art festivals and cultural exchange activities, such as the 'Weiwuying Arts Festival,' 'Hualien Children's Theater Festival,' 'Tainan Art Like Spring Breeze Tour,' 'Macau Latin Parade,' 'Shanghai Ming Contemporary Art Museum,' 'Wuzhen Theater Festival,' 'International Children's Theater Festivals in Mianyang (Sichuan), Langfang (Hebei), and Xi'an,' 'Mime Walkabout - Preliminary Environmental Theater Experiment in Lombok, Indonesia,' and 'Mime Walkabout in Nepal,' accumulating substantial performance and audience engagement experience.
