2026 Taiwan Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Joint Exhibition
This exhibition includes nine mouth and foot painting artists such as Hsieh Kun-shan (謝坤山) and Lin Yu-chen (林宥辰), featuring over 40 works. Each piece has its unique style, all painstakingly created by the artists holding brushes with their mouths or toes. The public is welcome to come and appreciate the works, offering warm applause to these warriors of life.
To raise public awareness of the dignity of life and concern for the lives of people with disabilities, and to show more care for their career development, each painting in the exhibition tells a story of emotion. Their exquisite masterpieces are admirable, and their spirit of perseverance and relentless effort in the face of difficulty is truly commendable. It is also hoped that by visiting the creations of the mouth and foot painters, the public can feel the arduous painting process of the artists, comprehend the preciousness and true meaning of life, and thereby encourage young people everywhere to strive upwards, cherishing the body given by their parents.
The International Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists was founded in 1956. It is a self-help organization established by a group of painters who have lost the use of their hands or were born without hands. All members of the association possess the talent to create paintings by holding a brush with their mouth or foot. Each year, the association prints the painstakingly created and carefully selected works of the artists into cards, calendars, and reproductions, selling them to the public via mail order. The resulting profits are then paid to each artist as a monthly salary or scholarship, allowing the artists to live without financial worries and devote all their energy to creation, striving for artistic advancement.
