2026 Bamboo Art Design Camp

To discover bamboo art stars, nurture emerging bamboo art talent, revitalize the potential charm of the bamboo art industry, and combine innovative bamboo art to promote the fashion industry with green, sustainable, and cultural creative industrial content, the Nantou County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Nantou County Bamboo Art Society have set this year's theme as "Living Crafts" design, conducted in a mentorship system. Through the establishment of theoretical foundations by professional designers combined with technical instruction from bamboo art teachers, new forms of bamboo art products using local "bamboo" as material will incorporate lifestyle functions and creative design elements.
This design camp emphasizes "theoretical foundation" and "technical instruction": including bamboo craft product characteristics, craft materials, tool application, machinery and equipment practice, traditional and innovative technical practice, bamboo cultural creative industry content, design theory, process flow, product design, marketing, and local cultural symbol aesthetics.
The design camp runs from July 4 to August 30, 2026 (Republic of China year 115), with classes on Saturdays and Sundays. Students from domestic and international art, craft, design, and related departments, as well as current or aspiring professional workers in bamboo art or related craft design and production, are welcome to actively register. Priority will be given to those who have not previously participated in bamboo art design study. Enrollment is limited to 12 people.
Study locations: Nantou County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau Bamboo Art Museum, Chushan Bamboo Industry Factories, Craft Artist Studios (study locations may be adjusted based on course requirements).
